Lite Machines’ uses modern computer-aided design (CAD), computer aided engineering (CAE) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) technology to quickly develop innovative products and production processes. From solid modeling CAD software to finite element analysis (FEA) software to kinematic analysis Lite Machines has the tools to develop emerging technologies in the aerospace industry.
Lite Machines maintains a full CNC machine shop including a custom 4-axis CNC vertical machining center for high-speed machining, a 150 Amp CNC EDM (electric discharge machine) for cutting steel tools and assemblies, 400 amp TIG welder for welding aluminum and small parts, and a computerized automatic spot welder for delicate welds on rotor control assemblies, MIG and Plasma cutting capabilities. All prototype and production tooling is designed and built in-house with the result that lead times and tooling costs are significantly reduced.
Lite Machines owns and operates modern multi-axis horizontal machining centers equipped with live tools for in-cycle machining and threading of cross holes and complex milled geometry. Each production machine is configured for a different style of part and all can be used for machining high precision aircraft components from aluminum, steel, titanium and engineering plastics
Southern California is famous for its sunny days and moderate climate. It is also infamous for outragous demand pricing for electricity. Lite machines' California facility will be 100% solar powered.
